Extraction of Teeth and Grafting of the Extraction Site

With the loss of teeth comes the loss of surrounding gum and bone. However, with the judicious use of grafting materials, the extraction site contours can be preserved for future aesthetic, prosthetic, or implant needs.

Bone loss caused by periodontal disease or tooth fracture.

The tooth is removed and the remaining tooth socket thoroughly cleaned of all inflamed and infected tissue. An appropriate bone grafting material is carefully placed into the extraction socket.

Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) membrane is often placed over the grafted material.

Sutures placed into the gum tissue allow proper healing of the surrounding soft tissues. Implant placed in restored bone.
